Change log
Every database migration applied to CharityFile, and changes to the fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties and other state facts in our database, with the date of each. The database writes each fact entry itself and refuses a change that does not name who made it. It also refuses to edit or delete an entry, so a correction always appears as a new entry.
See /coverage for the share of rows whose quote we found in its source and the oldest review per jurisdiction, /api/quality for the machine-readable JSON snapshot, the RSS feed of the newest 200 entries, or the CSV export of every entry.
244 database migrations since Apr 24, 2026, and 1115 fact changes since Sep 9, 2026.

- Sep 15, 2026NV penalty: description Nevada Secretary of State (Commercial Recording Division) enforces NRS Chapter 82A. Section 82A.300 imposes a $50 civil penalty for failure to file required information and financial reports, escalating to a civil penalty of not more than $1,000 if the failure persists 90+ days. SoS enforcement powers include cease-and-desist orders against further solicitation, revocation of charter (Nevada-organized charities), revocation of foreign-entity business rights, and referral to the Nevada Attorney General. Nevada is also unique in NOT regulating paid solicitors / professional fundraisers at the state level — obligations attach only to the charitable organization itself. → Nevada Secretary of State (Commercial Recordings Division) enforces NRS Chapter 82A. NRS 82A.300 imposes a $50 penalty when a charitable organization that is not required to file an annual list fails to file the information and financial report, and uses the title's list-default penalty when the organization must file an annual list. If the failure continues 90 days after written notice, the Secretary of State may impose a civil penalty of not more than $1,000, issue a cease-and-desist order, revoke a Nevada charter or forfeit the right to transact business, and refer the matter to the Attorney General. NRS 82A.310 lets the Attorney General seek an injunction and recover a civil penalty of not more than $1,000 for each violation. NRS 598.1305 prohibits a person, in planning, conducting or executing a solicitation for or on behalf of a charitable organization or nonprofit corporation, from making deceptive claims or omitting material facts; the Attorney General has primary jurisdiction, and a violation is a deceptive trade practice. Chapter 82A has no professional-fundraiser registration.Made by: not recorded

The corporate Annual List of Officers (NRS 82.193, separate 0 filing for in-state NV nonprofits) is NOT part of charitable solicitation registration and is not bundled into this fee. → The Charitable Solicitation Registration Statement has no filing fee. Renewal is due not later than the end of the anniversary month in which the organization first filed. The corporate Annual List of Officers is a separate Chapter 82 filing: NRS 82.193(3) charges $50 to file a list, adds a $50 default penalty, and charges $100 for reinstatement, and is not bundled into this $0 CSRS band.

“Directed only to persons who are related within the third degree of consanguinity or affinity to the officers, directors, trustees or executive personnel of the charitable organization”
Made by: not recorded - Sep 15, 2026NV deadline rule: calculation notes Initial CSRS registration must be filed before any charitable solicitation in Nevada per NRS § 82A.100. Event-driven trigger; nonprofits typically file the CSRS concurrently with their first Annual List of Officers (NRS Chapter 82). NV nonprofits formed under Chapter 82 also receive automatic State Business License exemption — must still file the exemption form once. → File the Charitable Solicitation Registration Statement before soliciting contributions in this State, or having contributions solicited in this State on its behalf (NRS 82A.100(1)). If the organization is an entity required to file a Nevada initial or annual list, it files the information and financial report with that list, or before soliciting if it did not (NRS 82A.100(3)(a)). If it is not such an entity, it files before soliciting (NRS 82A.100(3)(b)).; source url https://nevada.public.law/statutes/nrs_82a.100 → https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-082A.html; source quote replaced

- Sep 14, 2026NV deadline rule: offset anchor none → end_of_month; calculation notes Annual CSRS renewal is filed concurrently with the Annual List of Officers, both due last day of the organization's incorporation anniversary month per NRS Chapter 82. The CSRS itself runs on the same anniversary-month cycle. Late filing → $50 civil penalty per NRS § 82A.300 (escalating to $1K if 90+ days late). → NRS 82A.100(3). An organization that files no Nevada initial or annual list renews its Charitable Solicitation Registration Statement annually on the last day of the month in which the anniversary of its initial filing falls (subsection 3(b)); the engine anchors on the customer's registration date and moves to the last day of that month. An entity that files a Nevada initial or annual list files the statement with each annual list instead (subsection 3(a)); that date follows the entity's own list cycle, which we do not hold, so the anniversary date is an approximation for a Nevada-listed entity. The SOS page that carried the old quote (nvsos.gov/sos/businesses/charitable-solicitation) no longer exists; the SOS registration page is nvsos.gov/licensing/charitable-organizations.; source url https://www.nvsos.gov/sos/businesses/charitable-solicitation → https://www.leg.state.nv.us/nrs/NRS-082A.html

Applied migrations

- Apr 29, 2026
Fact entries record changes to fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties, required attachments, agencies, audit thresholds, deadline extensions and conditional duties, including changes made directly in the database. A fee, deadline, exemption or deadline extension entry shows the source quote and link of its row, or says what the entry did not record. Migration entries record every migration applied to the production database. This page shows every entry. The database refuses to edit or delete an entry of either kind. “Made by: not recorded” marks an entry from before we recorded who made each change.
