Change log
Every database migration applied to CharityFile, and changes to the fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties and other state facts in our database, with the date of each. The database writes each fact entry itself and refuses a change that does not name who made it. It also refuses to edit or delete an entry, so a correction always appears as a new entry.
See /coverage for the share of rows whose quote we found in its source and the oldest review per jurisdiction, /api/quality for the machine-readable JSON snapshot, the RSS feed of the newest 200 entries, or the CSV export of every entry.
244 database migrations since Apr 24, 2026, and 1115 fact changes since Sep 9, 2026.

- Sep 14, 2026MO penalty: mechanism $1,000 per violation civil + Class E felony for willful fraud + solicitation ban + restitution → §407.100.6 civil penalty of not more than $1,000 per violation; §407.020.3 Class E felony; description Missouri Attorney General can seek civil penalties of $1,000 per violation under the Merchandising Practices Act (§407.020), plus solicitation bans and restitution. Willful and knowing violations with intent to defraud are Class E felonies. Per AG FAQ: "Violations constitute fraud under Missouri's Merchandising Practices Act, with penalties including civil penalties of $1,000 per violation, solicitation bans, and restitution." NOTE: Most CharityFile customers (501(c)(3) public charities) are exempt from MO registration entirely under §407.456(2)(6) — penalties apply only to non-exempt charities that solicit without registering. → Unregistered solicitation is an unlawful practice under Chapter 407. Civil tools are §407.100 (injunction, restitution, receiver, civil penalty of not more than one thousand dollars per violation). Class E felony is §407.020.3 for a person who willfully and knowingly engages in an unlawful practice with intent to defraud. Person includes any natural person and any agent, employee, partner, officer, director, member or stockholder (§407.010(5)).; short label Missouri ($1,000 per violation civil + Class E felony for fraud) → Missouri (§407.100.6 civil not more than $1,000 per violation; §407.020.3 Class E felony for a person with intent to defraud); source cite Mo. - Sep 14, 2026MO exemption: description Religious organizations: organizations meeting regularly for "worship of a supreme being or higher power" or "for mutual support or edification in piety," including entities owned or controlled by qualifying organizations. Per Mo. Rev. Stat. §407.456(2)(1) + AG FAQ definition. Independent of the §407.456(2)(6) 501(c)(3) blanket exemption — religious orgs without 501(c)(3) status still qualify. → Religious organizations under §407.456(2)(1), defined in §407.453(5) as a society, church, or like body that does not inure net earnings to a private party and that otherwise qualifies as an exempt organization under 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3), that either meets at more or less regular intervals for worship of a supreme being or higher power, or for mutual support or edification in piety.; source url https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=407.456 → https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=407.453; source quote replaced

Made by: not recorded - Sep 14, 2026MO deadline rule: calculation notes Missouri SOS Corporate Registration Report due August 31 each year per Mo. Rev. Stat. §355.856. Annual is the default; corporations may elect biennial filing per §355.857 (even-year corps file in even years; odd-year corps in odd years). Fixed-date deadline — does NOT shift with fiscal year end. NOTE: this is REQUIRED for all MO nonprofit corporations regardless of §407 charity-solicitation exempt status — the 501(c)(3) blanket exemption from §407.456(2)(6) does NOT apply to this corporate filing. → Missouri SOS corporate registration report due August 31 (§355.856). Fifteen dollar late fee in §355.856.3. Dissolution is not automatic: §355.706(2) the secretary of state may commence a proceeding if the report is not delivered within ninety days after it is due; §355.711 requires at least sixty days after notice.; source quote replaced

Exceptions from that annual-report duty (they do not remove initial registration): (1) allocation from an incorporated community chest or united fund that itself files; (2) contributions not in excess of the attorney-general amount, which shall not be less than ten thousand dollars, in the twelve months; (3) the local-affiliate carve-out in §407.462.2(3).

Fact entries record changes to fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties, required attachments, agencies, audit thresholds, deadline extensions and conditional duties, including changes made directly in the database. A fee, deadline, exemption or deadline extension entry shows the source quote and link of its row, or says what the entry did not record. Migration entries record every migration applied to the production database. This page shows every entry. The database refuses to edit or delete an entry of either kind. “Made by: not recorded” marks an entry from before we recorded who made each change.
