Change log
Every database migration applied to CharityFile, and changes to the fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties and other state facts in our database, with the date of each. The database writes each fact entry itself and refuses a change that does not name who made it. It also refuses to edit or delete an entry, so a correction always appears as a new entry.
See /coverage for the share of rows whose quote we found in its source and the oldest review per jurisdiction, /api/quality for the machine-readable JSON snapshot, the RSS feed of the newest 200 entries, or the CSV export of every entry.
244 database migrations since Apr 24, 2026, and 1115 fact changes since Sep 9, 2026.

- Sep 14, 2026IN penalty: description Indiana does not require general charitable solicitation registration, but charitable fraud is actively prosecuted under the Deceptive Consumer Sales Act (IC 24-5-0.5). The DCSA "consumer transaction" definition explicitly includes charitable solicitations. Per IC 24-5-0.5-4: standard deceptive act = civil penalty up to $5,000 per violation; violation of an injunction = up to $15,000 per violation; incurable deceptive act = up to $500 per violation. Indiana AG Consumer Protection enforces. Pro fundraiser consultants/solicitors face separate IC 23-7-8 registration requirements ($1K initial + $50/yr renewal); failure to register/comply triggers separate enforcement. → Indiana does not require general charitable-organization solicitation registration. The Attorney General, Consumer Protection, enforces the Deceptive Consumer Sales Act. IC 24-5-0.5-4(g) authorizes a civil penalty of a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000) per violation for a knowing violation of section 3 or 10; section 4(f) authorizes up to fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) per injunction violation; section 8 authorizes up to five hundred dollars ($500) for an incurable deceptive act. Charitable purpose in IC 24-5-0.5-2(a)(1) is a purpose of a sale, lease, or disposition, not a gift solicitation.; source url https://law.justia.com/codes/indiana/title-24/article-5/chapter-0-5/section-24-5-0-5-4/ → https://iga.in.gov/ic/2026/Title_24.html; source cite Indiana Code IC 24-5-0.5-4 → IC 24-5-0.5-4; source quote replacedMade by: not recorded

Fact entries record changes to fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties, required attachments, agencies, audit thresholds, deadline extensions and conditional duties, including changes made directly in the database. A fee, deadline, exemption or deadline extension entry shows the source quote and link of its row, or says what the entry did not record. Migration entries record every migration applied to the production database. This page shows every entry. The database refuses to edit or delete an entry of either kind. “Made by: not recorded” marks an entry from before we recorded who made each change.
