Change log
Every database migration applied to CharityFile, and changes to the fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties and other state facts in our database, with the date of each. The database writes each fact entry itself and refuses a change that does not name who made it. It also refuses to edit or delete an entry, so a correction always appears as a new entry.
See /coverage for the share of rows whose quote we found in its source and the oldest review per jurisdiction, /api/quality for the machine-readable JSON snapshot, the RSS feed of the newest 200 entries, or the CSV export of every entry.
244 database migrations since Apr 24, 2026, and 1115 fact changes since Sep 9, 2026.

- Sep 14, 2026AZ penalty: mechanism Civil $1K/violation + Class 6 felony (contracted fundraiser); AG Consumer Fraud Act $10K willful → Civil $1,000 per violation (in lieu of § 44-1531 for § 44-6561(A) acts) + class 6 felony (contracted fund raiser) / class 1 misdemeanor (independent solicitor); § 44-1531 $10,000 per wilful violation for other Consumer Fraud Act violations; description Arizona AG Consumer Protection enforces narrow remaining solicitation provisions per A.R.S. § 44-6561 — civil penalty up to $1,000 per violation, plus Class 6 FELONY for contracted fundraiser violations and Class 1 misdemeanor for independent solicitors. AZ joins Colorado, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Maine, Mississippi, and North Dakota as the 9th audited state with felony classification (NARROW SCOPE: applies only to paid solicitors, not 501(c)(3) charities themselves, since AZ eliminated general charity registration in 2013 via HB 2457). Even without registration, charity fraud is independently prosecutable under the AZ Consumer Fraud Act (A.R.S. § 44-1522 + Title 44 Ch. 10 Art. 7) with civil penalties up to $10,000 per willful violation. → A.R.S. § 44-6561: the Attorney General may recover a civil penalty of up to $1,000 per violation from any person, a charitable organization included, that commits an act proscribed by § 44-6561(A); for those acts that penalty is in lieu of the § 44-1531 penalty. The criminal classifications reach paid solicitors only: a contracted fund raiser who knowingly commits such an act is guilty of a class 6 felony, an independent solicitor of a class 1 misdemeanor. Arizona repealed its general charity registration in 2013. Other consumer fraud (A.R.S. § 44-1522) carries a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per wilful violation under § 44-1531.; short label Arizona (Class 6 FELONY for contracted fundraiser violations + $1K civil per § 44-6561; AG Consumer Fraud Act $10K per willful violation per § 44-1522) → Arizona ($1,000 civil per violation under § 44-6561; class 6 felony for contracted fund raisers; $10,000 per wilful violation under § 44-1531 for other consumer fraud); source cite A.R.S. § 44-6561 + § 44-1522 → A.R.S. § 44-6561 + § 44-1531Made by: not recorded
Fact entries record changes to fees, deadlines, exemptions, penalties, required attachments, agencies, audit thresholds, deadline extensions and conditional duties, including changes made directly in the database. A fee, deadline, exemption or deadline extension entry shows the source quote and link of its row, or says what the entry did not record. Migration entries record every migration applied to the production database. This page shows every entry. The database refuses to edit or delete an entry of either kind. “Made by: not recorded” marks an entry from before we recorded who made each change.
